Frequently asked questions

How do I use the Handover confirmation PIN?+

Open an accepted trade in My activity. The buyer generates a 45-minute PIN and can reveal or copy it again after reload. The seller enters it in person, or the buyer uses Share with seller in FarmOffer after explicitly confirming inspection, quantity/quality, handover and the payment disclaimer. Only that seller can reveal a released PIN. The seller must still confirm completion.

When should I share the PIN?+

Only after inspection and at handover. Never share early by WhatsApp or phone. Digital release and the completion receipt do not prove payment, quality, ownership or physical delivery. FarmOffer does not verify payment.

What if a PIN expires, locks or I lose connectivity?+

The buyer can generate a new PIN after a 60-second cooldown. It immediately invalidates the old PIN and any previous release. Five incorrect attempts lock the PIN. Internet is required to generate, release and verify. A previously displayed PIN remains available while that screen stays open, but offline verification is not supported. After a connection error, refresh the trade to check whether completion was recorded.

Where is my completion receipt?+

Both parties see Trade completed and the server timestamp in My activity, with View handover receipt and Report a problem. PIN completion is final in FarmOffer; report a problem if the record is wrong.

Can I correct or close my listing?+

Open My activity and find My active listings. Choose Edit listing to correct details or replace a photo. Choose Close listing when it is no longer available. Changes to the product or location decline unaccepted offers. Accepted agreements remain available to complete.

Why does my listing show a reference image?+

Reference images illustrate a product or category and are clearly labelled. They are not photos of the seller’s goods. Upload your own recent photo to help buyers assess your listing. Submitted photos stay private while awaiting approval.

How do I sell a product?+

Join or sign in, save your profile once, then choose List a product. Add the product, exact location, available quantity, unit, price, quality, packaging and collection details.

Can buyers post what they need?+

Yes. Choose Buyer requests, post the product and quantity you need, and suppliers can respond with their available quantity and price.

When is my phone number shown?+

Your saved phone or WhatsApp number is private while browsing. FarmOffer reveals it only to the matched user after an offer or supply response is accepted.

How does price negotiation work?+

A buyer proposes a price and quantity. The seller can accept, decline or counter. An accepted quantity is deducted from the listing so the remaining stock stays accurate.

Does FarmOffer collect payment?+

No. Buyers and sellers inspect the goods, agree handover terms and pay directly. FarmOffer does not currently provide escrow or payment processing.

What does verified mean?+

FarmOffer administrator verification is an additional account check. Phone checked means the saved number passed the available verification process. Neither badge replaces your own product and identity checks.

How do ratings work?+

Only users in a completed FarmOffer trade can rate one another. A six-digit Handover confirmation PIN records completion before ratings become available. It expires after 45 minutes.

How do I report or block someone?+

Open the relevant product, buyer request or trade activity and choose Report. You can also hide and block that account from contacting you through new FarmOffer offers.

Why is a product photo optional?+

A farmer may need to publish from a location with limited data. Photos are recommended because they help buyers assess the listing, but buyers must still inspect the actual goods.

How are locations recorded?+

FarmOffer records the country, a country-specific province, region or district, and the nearest town, city or farming area.

Before you pay

Inspect the actual goods, confirm ownership, quantity, quality and transport, and be cautious about advance fees.
